Denagard 10%

Name: Denagard 10% for injections (antibacterial veterinary drug for systemic use)

Ingredients: 1 ml of the product contains the active substance: Tiamulin hydrogen fumarate – 123 mg  Excipients: sesame oil

Pharmaceutical form: Injectable solution.

Pharmacological properties:  Tiamulin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic that belongs to the group of Pleuromutilin The antibiotic has a bacteriostatic effect, inhibiting the synthesis of protein in sensitive microorganisms. The product is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms (Brachyspira innocens, Brachyspira pilosicoli, Leptospira spp., Clostridium perfringens, Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Listeria monocytogenes, Pasteurella multocida, Actinomyces pyogenes, Actinobacillus spp., Fusobacterium spp., Klebsiella pneumoniae, Haemophilus spp., Bacteroides spp., Campylobacter coli, Lawsonia intracellular is), as well as chlamydia and mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Mycoplasma hyosynoviae, M. hyorhinis, M. bovis, and others).

Groups of animals: Pigs:

Indications for use: Treatment of pigs suffering from dysentery, enzootic pneumonia, pleuropneumonia, arthritis, caused by microorganisms sensitive to tiamulin.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to tiamulin. Do not use products containing monensin, narazin or salinomycin in pigs for at least 7 days prior to, during and after treatment with tiamulin. This can lead to a deterioration in health or even death.

Side effects: Side effects have not been observed with a dose exceeding the recommended one by three times . As with other antibiotics in pigs, in some cases, erythema or slight edema may appear on the skin after application of thiamine. In the event of toxic effects, immediately stop the administration of the product and apply supportive, symptomatic treatment.

Special precautions for application: As Denagard contains 10% (injectable solution) of sesame oil, it’s important to make sure the syringe used is dry. A mixture of oil and water may cause a syringe to clog, which complicates the injection

Interaction with other products or other forms of interaction: The product is prohibited to be used simultaneously with salinomycin, monensin, narasin.

Withdrawal period: Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 10 days after last administration of the product. Meat obtained before that period is utilized or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.

Forms of incompatibility: Do not use simultaneously with monensin, salinomycin, narasin

Shelf life: 60 months from the date of manufacture. After first take-off from the vial, the product should be used within 28 days, provided it is stored in a dark place at a temperature of 10 °C up to 25 °C.

Special precautions during storage: Keep in a dry, dark place inaccessible for children at temperatures of 15 °C up to 30 °C.
