On March 16, 2026, a lecture for students of the Veterinary Medicine program took place at the Stepan Gzhytskyi National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies Lviv.
The speaker was Oleksandr Starovir, Head of the Representative Office of Intervet International B.V. in Ukraine and a member of the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP). The event was organized at the initiative of Oksana Pryima, Acting Head of the Department of Parasitology and Ichthyopathology.
The lecture was held with the support of MSD Animal Health in cooperation with Svit-Agro Trading House, the official distributor of MSD Animal Health products in Ukraine in the companion animal segment.
During the lecture, key aspects of the diagnosis and prevention of zoonotic parasitic diseases were discussed, including toxoplasmosis, cryptosporidiosis, and giardiasis. Special attention was also given to modern approaches to communication and marketing strategies in the veterinary field.
The event attracted strong interest among students, with a full audience in attendance. In an interactive discussion format, participants had the opportunity to ask questions and receive practical insights based on the speaker’s extensive professional experience.
Such educational initiatives contribute to bridging theoretical knowledge with practical experience and play an important role in the professional development of future veterinary specialists.
